In February of 2009 the American Recovery and Revitalization Act was signed into law by President Obama. The aim of this spending bill is to stimulate the economy on several fronts, including Healthcare.
The goal of the 30 billion dollars in Medicare and Medicaid incentives contained in the bill is to encourage physicians to transition to using an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system by 2015. Physicians, depending on eligibility and the year of transition, can either receive as much as $44,000 through Medicare or up to $64,000 through Medicaid per physician, not per practice.
ERGOS Technology has put together an ARRA FAQ where you can find out more about eligibility, payment schedules, CCHIT Certification and other details contained in the bill.
If you are currently running an EMR in your medical office, ERGOS can help you determine if your product is CCHIT Certified. If you are looking to implement a new EMR product, ERGOS' team of engineers support a number of solutions, including implementing and supporting gloEMR, a CCHIT Certified software product from our strategic partner gloStream.
ERGOS Technology chose to partner with gloStream because gloEMR is a proven product with a variety of useful features, some of which include:
