Business Needs
The Whitaker Companies utilize WebPAS WorldLink that integrates core functions of staffing and recruiting software with their own web site in real time, allowing for a “virtual branch office” that is open 24x7 helping them communicate more effectively with candidates and clients. Whitaker was having issues with updates to their four websites and WebPAS. Some of the web pages could not be found for updating and the system was running slower than they would like. Not all of the links worked and old information appearing on the website couldn’t be removed. Whitaker was looking for support in identifying and correcting these issues, enhancing security and improving performance.
ERGOS Solution
ERGOS conducted a thorough network assessment, from which was implemented a project plan consolidating Whitaker’s 14 server environment to 6 servers, removing out of warranty hardware and consolidating critical network applications to warrantied hardware. In identifying the location of the various websites and the WebPAS system and job bank database, ERGOS moved the companies’ four websites to a third party host for added network security. To optimize performance, the job bank database for the WebPAS system was moved to a newer existing SQL server and set up a with maintenance plan. Backups were reconfigured with a test and restore schedule implemented. The secure login to the job bank was reset to be more secure and user friendly.
The Results
Website and WebPAS updating was simplified making the process easy and quick. The job bank database runs smoothly and updating it is a simple 1-2 process. User login does not display internal network information, is secure and friendlier. Whitaker’s network is more secure and updating is streamlined with their websites moved to a third party host.
