Business Needs
Sage Refined Products Ltd. was born out of a buyout of a division of Amerex Brokers and needed to be up and running within four months. The challenge was that Sage had to start from scratch including a complete new infrastructure, and more importantly, it needed to create its own Customer Relationship platform, its own Brokerage platform and it own Contract and Billing system since they would not be able to bring the system with them that Amerex took years to build. They needed to build their own system within four months and they did not know where to start.
ERGOS Solution
Kirby Greteman, a partner with Sage, contacted Steve Winter, ERGOS’ CEO, and laid out their plan on a napkin and asked if ERGOS could help. Steve quickly enlisted the Business Solutions division of ERGOS Technology and its engineers for help. Using Microsoft’s .NET 2.0 framework with a SQL backend, ERGOS developed Sage’s Refined Products Brokerage application that was not only completed in four months, but was a tremendous enhancement from what Greteman’s team was used to using. ERGOS also designed and installed a new IT infrastructure with Microsoft Small Business Server R2 2003 on a new Dell PowerEdge Server 2900 with Symantec Backup Exec 11D, Symantec AntiVirus Enterprise and a SonicWALL Pro 2040 firewall.
The Results
ERGOS solution gave Sage tremendous flexibility in servicing clients and gives them confidence to expand their operations. According to Greteman, Sage recently had a record month and the system was flawless!
The system is extremely efficient and automatically handles transactions faster by confirming deals and distributing multiple contracts via email and/or fax with one click of a button and integrates seamlessly with invoicing and accounting. With fewer clicks, less time is spent on transactions and more time is spent on doing deals.
