Business Needs
Mountain Commercial Graphics had run out of disc space on their SQL database server which was at its “end of life cycle.” Their IMS system is an application used to run their business and includes accounting, order entry, inventory and costing controls. In order to update to the latest version of the system, they needed to migrate it to a new server. They were looking for an IT outsourcing company that could implement the project efficiently and effectively.
ERGOS Solution
ERGOS worked to install the latest version of their IMS system, migrate the database, update the connections to the workstations, and clean up the Crystal reporting functionality. ERGOS deployed a warrantied Dell PowerEdge 2950 server with redundant and mirrored drives, high processor capabilities and installed Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows SQL Server 2005. As an ERGOS standard, a SQL maintenance plan was instituted to provide a robust backup system.
The Results
Mountain Commercial Graphics’ IMS system is updated, stable and runs faster. ERGOS was able to complete the project on time and within budget. The SQL databases are regularly backed up providing peace of mind for the company’s critical operations data.
