Business Needs
Brennan’s of Houston, a renowned 40-year old “Texas Creole” restaurant in Houston, desperately needed a way to consistently deliver highly personalized customer service. Their network infrastructure had become unstable causing slow downs in accessing their mission critical reservations system. Brennan’s management was looking for an IT vendor that could upgrade their network, maintain it and provide them strategic direction to avoid any future issues with it. They wanted a secure, stable and reliable system that would perform fast with 100% uptime.

ERGOS Solution
Using the Microsoft Technology assessment, ERGOS conducted a thorough assessment of the existing infrastructure, created a server upgrade and migration plan that would not disrupt their restaurant business, and completed the project within a planned timeframe of a few days. ERGOS’ solution included a new server with the collaboration and sharing features of Microsoft’s Small Business Server, a Terminal server for robust remote access, and upgrading an existing server for mobile handheld devices synching. Several layers of antivirus protection were included as well as a tape backup solution to protect all of their data. Their reservation system was secured with a Microsoft SQL database maintenance plan to ensure data protection and integrity.

The Results
After the deployment – “painless,” according to Brennan’s business manager – the restaurant has powerful, reliable infrastructure to help them live up to their slogan: “We create memories.” SBS and SQL Server power a customer relationship management application that allows the restaurant to identify its best customers, track diners’ birthdays and preferred tables, and to email customers when their favorite wine is in stock. The restaurant’s staff also uses SBS and Windows Mobile devices to stay connected from outside of work for effective team communication and collaboration.
