Business Needs

Sage Refined Products Ltd. was formed as a buy out of a division from Amerex Brokers and needed to be up and running within four months of the buyout. Their need for a stable, secure and fail safe network infrastructure was mission critical for their new company. Seventy-five percent of their business is done over the Internet and is extremely time sensitive; downtime is not an option.

ERGOS Solution

ERGOS created an efficient, centrally managed network with the installation of Microsoft Small Business Server R2 2003 on a Dell PowerEdge 2900 server with Symantec Backup Exec and Symantec AntiVirus Enterprise Edition. A SonicWALL Pro 2040 Comprehensive Security Suite was set up to provide a secure and stable Internet connection with automatic failover across two providers. For personal computers, ERGOS set up Dell Optiplex workstations. In addition, ERGOS Business Solutions’ group developed a Refined Products Brokerage application that runs their entire trading operation from soup to nuts.

The Results

Sage Refined Products’ mission critical technology has redundancy, failover, security, and data protection which provide a solid foundation for their fast-paced trading operations. Fast network performance from a centrally managed and efficient network is key to support the non-stop activities of a trading floor. The IT environment is maintained on a regular basis and monitored 24x7 to ensure that any pre-failure indicators are addressed promptly to eliminate risk of any downtime.
