Windows Server 2003 R2 as Domain Controller Helps to Stabilize and Secure Mission Critical Infrastructure

KEM-TRON was seeking to stabilize their IT environment, a mission critical component to their business. They were looking to eliminate the risk of server outages and more fully protect their data. In essence, they wanted to create a complete sense of security where if an unforeseen interruption were to occur, a failover would keep them from missing a beat. They were also looking for an IT partner they could grow with and have confidence in.
ERGOS was brought in to secure, stabilize and maintain the IT environment into a proactive, managed network. A network assessment was conducted and a migration plan developed to more stabilize and secure the network. ERGOS quickly consolidated four servers into three for stability and efficiency. A Dell PE 1950 was installed as the domain controller with Windows Server 2003 and Symantec Backup Exec 11D, while two servers were retired. The two existing Dell PE 1750’s were reconfigured as the File/Print server and the Microsoft Exchange 2003 server. Spam Soap email filtering service was also implemented along with FileBanc’s online backup service as added data security. The network is now monitored 24x7 with alerts configured for pre-failure indicators.
