Business Needs

Foundation Steel & Wire wanted Microsoft Exchange collaboration and sharing functionality so that they could become more productive. They also needed their network to be more stable, eliminating various issues that affected productivity. They were looking for an IT partner who could upgrade their infrastructure, providing them with stability, teamwork capabilities and remote access.

ERGOS Solution

After ERGOS’ thorough assessment of their network, a project plan was created. The deployment included upgrading their existing server with Microsoft Small Business Server to take advantage of all the collaboration, sharing and remote access features of Microsoft Exchange. Symantec’s tape backup solution was implemented and server antivirus installed for central and efficient management.

The Results

The new network infrastructure provided Foundation Steel with the ability for all employees to access network resources from anywhere while utilizing existing hardware. With their new remote access, sales people are able to retrieve and send emails and access other available software on the server with their laptops. The new infrastructure provided an immediate increase in productivity for office and mobile workers.
