Our client is a private equity management group that manages personal portfolios.
The company was using a 3rd party collaboration tool insufficient for their needs. They wanted to move to a true Hosted Microsoft Exchange solution. In addition to a Hosted Exchange Solution, the client was in need of a file server to replace an aging, out of warranty server.

Hosted MS Exchange Offers Enhanced Collaboration With High Availability

Our client places a premium on High Availability. That is why they ultimately chose a hosted solution. Using Hosted MS Exchange allowed them to have access to their mail, shared calendars and public folders anytime and anywhere they can get an internet connection.
ERGOS replaced the client's existing outdated server with a Dell PowerEdge 2900 running Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) to act as the file server. SBS was chosen as the operating system in order to provide additional functionality as well as an inexpensive path to bring Exchange email in house should the need arise in the future. ERGOS also implemented a Network Attached Storage / Backup Disaster Recovery (NAS/BDR) appliance that offers tapeless backups, High Availability and Disaster Recovery. In the event of a server failure, the NAS/BDR appliance can be configured as a Virtual Server greatly minimizing down time while waiting for new hardware. The NAS/BDR appliance's off-site replication feature secures data in two disparate areas of the United States in the event of catastrophes such as theft, fire or flooding.
Employee productivity and efficiencies have been greatly improved now that the client is able to collaborate using email, shared calendars, shared contacts and shared documents with their Hosted Exchange Solution. They also now have peace of mind knowing that their data is being backed up and archived both locally and at two separate data facilities.
